Advanced Technique, Artistry & Professional Preparation
Ballet 9 is the highest level of ballet training in our program, designed for advanced dancers who are technically strong, artistically aware, and ready to push the boundaries of their training. At this level, dancers are fluent in ballet vocabulary and comfortable executing most steps and combinations with clarity and control.
Classes become more physically and mentally demanding, with faster tempos, longer sequences, and complex turns and jumps. Students will explore phrasing, musicality, and the refinement of their personal line, while deepening their understanding of artistry and presence — not only on stage, but in every class.
Teachers take a collaborative approach, often working with dancers in a laboratory-style setting that fosters curiosity, problem-solving, and a deeper understanding of one’s own body in motion. This environment encourages students to become not just skilled dancers, but thoughtful, expressive artists.
Pointe work is emphasized in center, with a focus on clean execution, speed, stamina, and nuanced performance. Dancers at this level are expected to shift their focus beyond mechanics and toward intention, storytelling, and full artistic presence.
In addition, advanced students may be invited to participate in tour with our partners – professional ballet companies, a unique opportunity to expand their knowledge of dance education and community arts outreach.
