Expanding Technique & Refining Artistry
This class is designed for intermediate dancers who have a strong foundation in classical technique and are ready to expand their skills with greater complexity and artistry. Dancers at this level will deepen their understanding of ballet vocabulary and technique at both the barre and in the center, while continuing to build the strength, alignment, and discipline essential for advanced work.
More challenging turns and jumps are introduced and practiced regularly. Students are expected to demonstrate proper body placement, strong core engagement, and precise use of arms and head in increasingly complex combinations. Stage presence is encouraged throughout, with an emphasis on performing—even in the classroom—by bringing intention and artistry to every movement.
By the end of B7, dancers will be able to:
- Execute combinations with more advanced port de bras
- Perform simple battu movements
- Complete a double pirouette in flat shoes
- Perform 4 or more piqué turns en pointe
- Execute 1 pirouette en pointe
- Demonstrate tombé pas de bourrée en pointe
- Hold the working leg at 90 degrees in front, side, and back
This level supports continued growth in both technical mastery and expressive performance, preparing dancers for more advanced pointe work and pre-professional training.
